those are some cool machines. None that could let you "give it a try" I guess? Doesn't make it obvious from viewing the pics where the dies went

The 1805 and 1775 small Screw Presses have been on display since my first visit 41 years ago, but the location has changed at least twice. Presumably they were for medals or smaller coins.

This is a device to separate blanks by weight: under; standard; over. It is one of dozens of weighting machines made for use by mints. Britain was the first large scale user of "automatic weighing machines" although they were not really very accurate and did not meet the US Mint's standards for accuracy. Napier and others were primary manufacturers. Each machine was custom built and included it's own custom problems, too.
