Noticed 53-s and 63-d Franklins in ms67fbl now in pop report, also an ms68 1937-d and 1944 Walker.

The 63-d is this one which used to be a 66fbl...

And of course, more pain for me as I was the underbidder. It's very sad to be a collector on a budget. I don't know how I'll ever complete a set of Franklins that will match the quality of my other coins. I also see the jwb 52-d quarter which I bid on has upgraded from 67 to a pop 1/0 67+.

More fun with grade inflation --- none of your "grades" have any real meaning any more; and your fees are just wasted money. You could do as well 'investing' in Venezuelan Bolivars.
What about the 63 D Lincoln cents ?
That is why I don't play the condition rarity game.
I think the whole gradeflation thing is just sooo pitiful.
Wow, think that 66 already was the correct grade. It's hard to play that kind of game all for just a few little lines that may or may not be all there.

hmmm
I do not agree with current grade or the designation for the 1963 half dollar.
The prior grade of 66 may also be generous.
How long will it be before MS68 grades Franklin's become the norm for pop top coins in the series?
Wow.... slabs must be filled with helium the way the grades are floating higher....

But I'm thinking, not everything about our hobby is a constant. Will PCGS become a fad someday? Along the lines, did one participant enough to get the most out of it while it was popular. There are those who sit on the fence while others pass them by........benefiting, profiting........making the most of their time.....while something of our time is popular.
I think most of us do a little of both. But there are some people who are really persistent (like the dealers at a show who are constantly in PCGS's hair. And they know how to present an argument without being offensive when making their statement. And they easily move along without prejudice or getting frustrated. And I'm not directing my opinion at RogerB nor anyone else. Just presenting a scenario how some coins are getting upgraded.

The more qualities observed in a coin, the more desirable that coin becomes!

"Grading" MUST be standard, repeatable and constant if it is to be of any use to collectors. Without stability, the entire house of cards collapses.
A '44P Walker goes for 109K in a "PCGS 68 holder?"
