Is it worth it to grade 2018 Palladium coin?

My wife wants to have hers graded via PCGS. at 170.00 (shipping both directions , new PCGS account and price to grade) overall cost is it worth it if she plans on selling. I would think at today's selling price she would be better to sell sealed. Thoughts?

Seems a bit high for 1 coin to grade. Seems like it would cost about 87 BUCKS under economy modern grade w FS w shipping.
My thoughts.
Right now sealed you can get approximately $2000-2100 with a quick easy big profit this week. Profits like that so soon usually do not last, and are rare. You are lucky to even get one.
Regarding grading. If you only want to do this just to try to sell one coin, that is a lot of money to join and grade. All of the big dealers will get their graded coins back well before you do and probably saturate the market at some point. They pay less for grading than you will. It will take you probably 3 weeks to even get your coin back. By then things may have changed.
Plus, you have no idea what condition the coin is in, if you leave it sealed. If it comes back a PR68, not many will even want it, and it may sell for even less than what you could have received for it ungraded.
A PR69 might get you more than your grading costs above the current unsealed price, but a PR70 would probably get you an extra $500-$1000 or something similar by then. Hard to know that one as only a couple have sold. Keep in mind 70's are tougher to get as the coin has to really be "perfect".
The dealers have been buying these aggressively, but they may be close to getting all they need. At that point the coin prices will start dropping on eBay, as people will try to sell before getting stuck with them.
My son got one and my advice to him was sell, sell, sell. I will look at mine and if nice I will grade it, but I plan on keeping one for the long term, as I think they are really nice looking coins.
Good luck

Whatever you decide, do it now before the hoopla dies down. I personally am getting more and more tired of hearing about this coin.
If you get $1000 premium for a 70 it might be worth it; I don't know how the 69s and 70s are differentiated. I called NGC, modern charge under $20 a coin, shipping express would be $20 both ways with corporate acct.. I can't imagine PCGS is that much more.
If you cannot flip it for a major profit right away, then maybe a gamble on a 70 would be worth it - IF you get a 70. Cheers, RickO
No.
$1380 was spent in a flash by a few key strokes ..... so cost of grading is minimal in a bigger scheme if you try to keep it safely slabbed.
I have 8 free submissions this calendar year; just don't know how to extend one for you tho
The "IF" factor says sell now.
The price of gold is set by faith, or lack of, in the currency it is priced in.
If it comes back in a 69 holder, you lost $170. If it comes back in a 70 holder - you better use Express - you may win if you get it sold before the hype dies down.
It looks like it got shipped out of Memphis, TN, that town doesn't ring a bell as to why.
Take some solace in that it isn't a "coin."
But is says right on it , that it is worth a whopping $25. LOL

Thanks all for the advise. Hard to say what to do at this point except sell. I have one form

Your wife wants it ...
Rut roh.
And you're asking if it's worth it ?
That's the location of the fulfillment company the runs the Mint's web catalog site and ships orders.
Ohhhh Noooooo Dont listen to your Wife listen to US because were the one you have to live with! And WE KNOW BETTER THAN YOUR WIFE! Then pocket the money and LIE to her and say you have NO IDEA what happened to the coin?
Okay send it in if you get a PR70 you can keep it or sell it it's up to you. But if you get a PR69 crack it out like the big boy's sell it raw make your $$$ it will still be in the 30 day range for some one else to try to get 1st strike in a PR70 but you need to act fast or you will lose $$$ when you could of sold it sealed for good money you cant stop to smell the roses with this stuff.
Hoard the keys.
