Peace $ one do ar

I'm not sure if it's struck through grease or something else, but cool still how the L's are obliterated.

Weird! Must be caused by grease?
"Got a flaming heart, can't get my fill"
Relief on all Peace dollars except 1921 is very low with poor camber. These factors make it easy for debris to obliterate entire letters or words.
A fun piece to own and enjoy!
NGC holder isn't it? What do they say?
It's straight graded at MS60
Thanks. Maybe grease.
Well...it is the word!
Yep. Awful movie though.
I have one similar to this except on the obverse I will have to dig up. Cool coin
Didn't anyone else notice that the entire word "Peace" is also missing?
Pete
Yep... I can see 'Peace', but it is very weak... magnify the picture. That 'grease' spot is unique, and looks like a near perfect circle. Cheers, RickO
Afford and Ricko..................yep, you're right. It is there, but very weak.

IMHO, a flaw as this should be noted on the label. It adds interest to the coin and NOW it is not a "common" coin as some folks including me will pay a slight premium for it. Note how the OPSI marks are inside the strike thru and the surface is 100% original.
Here are the NGC pics.

The round shape is what has thrown me off about whether it's grease or if something else got on the die to cause this.
