I marvel at how this was accomplished, plus a GAR side-light...............

My local coin dealer recently bought a very large collection of exonumia, including an enormous amount of G.A.R. (Grand Army of the Republic) badges, etc. VERY COOL to have the honor of looking through so many pieces from such an important part of US history. Still waiting to see what he does with all this.
As a side note, I bought these 2 silver dollar cut-outs from him. Just thought they were neat. How in the world was this accomplished? I'm smitten. Also attached are 2 pictures of his GAR pieces. Enjoy. Bob

Nice ribbons.
Coin cutouts were/are made with a precision saw.
Very nice !!!
Laser sharp down to the rays.....cool
That GAR material is extremely nice. It is so evocative of its time as well as the Civil War itself.
The cut-outs are interesting but, while the obverse of the Peace dollar is nice, the eagle on the reverse looks awful with its head mostly cut off.
I'm a big fan of the GAR. Thanks for sharing.
Nice work... I have seen many styles of cut outs, but that is different...The militaria is very nice as well... Cheers, RickO
