Should the POLL option automatically ..DEFAULT TO ANONYMOUS ????

UNLESS the author wishes to make sure everyone's vote is attributed so they know what everyone is thinking and can get mad at people for not choosing what they would choose and just infringing on privacy too dang much anyhow??
Well?
Should the POLL option automatically ..DEFAULT TO ANONYMOUS ????
This is a private poll: no-one will see what you voted for.

I think the pollster should have an option depending on what they are polling
i.e : If you as a seller ever knowingly claim an AU detail as an AU etc
I certainly don't mind people seeing what I voted for. It's all good.

No......If you are ashamed of your vote....you shouldn't vote. I certainly have no problem with people knowing where I stand on anything!

If it defaulted that way, people are still able to comment on their vote and the reason for it, I said 'yes' but in the end with everything else going on in life........It really doesn't matter that much to me

Did y'all notice that I only said, "DEFAULT" with the OPTION to be public?
it does not matter to me either. just like everyone else we all have opinions
No, because sometimes it’s interesting to see who voted for what. As long as voters know before hand whether it’s private or public, then it’s all good.
Sometimes, it’s better to be LUCKY than good. 🍀 🍺👍

I figure if you want to get a good read of a sentiment, you want to make it anonymous. Some folks may indeed be uneasy about a public disclosure of how they voted (e.g. "Where do you store your bullion and rare coins?")
If you just want to see who feels how about what, then make the poll public, and let whoever wants to participate do so.
Here's a warning parable for coin collectors...
What if the poll viewer could decide whether to view it anonymously or not
No, they didn't.
It's quite possibly an easy configuration for the admins to change if asked nicely. Of course, since polls aren't used super often, it won't be a high priority. I also agree with you. The default should be the option that's safest for the participants in case the pollster forgets to set it.
I also wish the post office didn't change the default for the signature on Express Mail from "required" to "waived."

Yes, absolutely. I think it would be good to have the viewer be able to change the voting, too.
@topstuf Why did you want your metal preference poll to be anonymous? Do you think people wouldn't want to answer if their identity was known?
People are contrary things.
Okay.....here's WHY
The reason for anonymous polls is to keep anyone from being influenced by OTHER votes.
Or sucking up.
Currying favor.
etc.
Just for beans, let's assume the poll is for an "issue" with ...oh... "some" coins. Not specific.
And then let's assume that another member or someone very influential is ...somehow... involved in the same issue.
Now we all know that coin collecting is completely honorable and no favors are ever garnered or offered so it might not apply in this illustrious and completely impartial and forgiving forum.
So please disregard.

ttttttttttt
I would like to see a poll on how we feel about polls. But only if the majority agrees such a poll is needed.
I do not care.... I usually state my choice anyway.....I do read the responses to the polls, with or without the 'public' option....most votes are obvious from the comments...Cheers, RickO
No...
