Ok, probably not what you were expecting. But I thought this was a pretty cool piece. And the best part? It was $25 SHIPPED!

Cool piece
That is cool. A very nice pick-up.
And if you show this to your non-numismatic friends, they would probably be equally impress as if you showed them one of the $10,000 coins from the ship.
I like it
I like it too.
I'm a big fan of "relic medals" containing historic metals and this has been one of my favorites due to it's association with the gold rush and the SS Central America.
Global Certification Services is Bob Paul's company in Philadelphia. It would be great to find out who the designer and engraver was.

I like it!! The holder looks exactly like the old PCCI Photo Cert holders.
Interesting, I wonder if PCCI licensed it from GCS:

Very unique pick up
Sweet !!!
That’s pretty cool
They are also almost identical to ACCUGRADE holders. Here is an example of those I have:
Very classy
I like the OP item.... Reminds me of panning for gold, and when you get down to the black sand and see 'color'...Cheers, RickO
Neat...on a scale size that would be a heck of a nugget! I think the miner would have thrown down the rest of whatever was in the pan and yelled 'Eureka!'

I had the same thought!
Very cool pick up and the price was right!

I like it also, any idea when this was issued
Nice way to preserve history and create a memory from the lumps of silver found in the wreckage. Nice art, too. I particularly like the storm scene.
Here's a warning parable for coin collectors...
I'm not sure the silver came from the wreckage. It says the gold does, but doesn't mention the silver, so I assume it didn't. That would be really cool if it did too though.
really cool pickup. i like the gold in pan.
Yes. At least two TPGS used that holder: INSAB and PCI.
That's a great item at an extremely reasonable price.
Virtually no different (although more attractive) that those little 1 gram groups of placer nuggets. Not much difference between 1 nugget or 30 of them.
The silver medal did not come from the SS Central America but the gold nugget sure did. That's a super cool piece of history with a very nice and artistic presentation. Did you find it on eBay? I've got to find me one.

Yep, and I was the only bidder! Woo hoo!
Here is another company that used the holder:
From what I have read, Accugrade started the photo slab and PCCI (before buying out Hallmark’s slabs) licensed the holder from Accugrade.
i like the design of that, cool
Very cool looking piece.
