Hello ALL

I'm curious, is there such a thing as a 1916 D Buffalo 3 1/2 leg?

Your coin was struck from worn dies (late die state) and includes a heavy clash that was reworked, taking out part of the inside feather on the Indian.
I'm not so sure about your coin being a 3 1/2 leg, though. Your last picture shows a lot off attenuation, but previous pictures show more of the leg.
It is quite possible that the leg is the result of the die becoming worn and overused. This was common with branch mints.
There is no record of a 1916-D 3 1/2 leg Buff.

I list it in my book on the abraded die stuff. Here's a couple of pics. The best coins are from very advanced die state dies, where additional die abrasion apparently occurred. Some collectors of the 3 1/2 legged coins accept this date and others do not. It is a borderline example of the variety. It is best seen when compared to a "normal" '16-D, where the difference is quite noticeable.
I don't believe your coin is the variety.
Thanks Ron. I missed that one. I hope the comments helped. Welcome to the Boards.

Yer welcome, Pete! Here's a comparison of the variety vs a "normal" coin-

Great introductory post. Welcome.
Doesn’t the 31/2 legged16-d have a tail on one of the number in the date, Ron?
Yes welcome aboard. I’m sorry I got wrapped up in the coin to mention welcome. You’ve come to the right place to get the answers. Our man, Ron, knows about everything there in to knows about the abraided buffalo nickels varieties.
Ron ole buddy. Can you answer my question above about the date.
Happy hunting, Joe
Yes I do believe you have one here. The tail is on the second 1 in the date if I remember correctly. I see it on your Buff.
I don't know much about Buff but I welcome you with open arms
thank you all so very much! I am indeed feeling welcomed and appreciate you all! So, should I send the Buff to PCGS to get the FS-901 ?
