To Open or Not to Open?

I recently acquired a fairly new medal, and it was still in its original plastic bag packaging. The bag is just plain ugly, but I am wondering if any value may be maintained by keeping the medal in the bag. The medal is not worth a lot, but I just do not know. What do you think?

Information on the medal (date, composition, etc) would help us help you. Ugly might be in the eyes of the beholder (no pun intended). Pictures please as well.

PS: my neighbors wife is ugly but she cooks great and he says that's why he married her.................go figure.
@AUandAG I updated the OP.

Open it! Enjoy.
I’ve never understood the obsession with original packaging. Often times, it’s not archival anyway.
If the original packaging was nice it would be a decision. This is easy, get into an attractive holder. Unless you want to sell it in the near future.
When in doubt, bust it out!
Take it out of the bag, it is just a plastic bag
Agreed, no way to know that's original anyway.
Collector, occasional seller
Liberate it! The wrap is made of low grade plastic...maybe safer to have the medal in a good flip
@KellenCoin
I have a few extra large flips from PCGS I'd be happy to send you
Oh did I tell you....it's a beautiful coin ?
Absolutely break it out!
This medal, struck by the US Mint, is not worth much with or without the original sealed bag. If you had the original Mint box, that might help some to the value, but the bag doesn't add anything, IMO. Plus, if you jostle the medal in the bag, the high points can get a touch of wear and discoloration.
Free Willy!
Thank you so much for this offer! DM me.

What is the diameter & thickness? I may also have extra capsule
When in doubt, leave it alone.
I guess everyone wants you to open it, but I'm in favor of keeping it sealed. JMHO !!!
The medal looks like it is in a used condom. The design and refused deserves to be better protected and displayed. Peace Roy

Take it out of course. Then it has a better chance to deteriorate!
Take it out and put it in an airtite..... Full protection, better viewing....There will be a limited market for that medal anyway...Cheers, RickO
I would want get the crappy plastic bag off of it so I could c it better and avoid pvc issues.
It’s new home wb a 2.5” non pvc flip.
That might be a little tough
