Four More Varieties added to Registry Set and One is My Holy Grail Coin.
First coin up has always been my Holy Grail Coin. I knew about this coin before it was ever in the CPG as J T Stanton Had mentioned it to me. He had said he was in search of this coin for several years and never found an example.
This coin is actually the DISCOVERY COIN. Our host messed up on the first one graded and it was not until this coin showed up that everyone realized oops.. So when this coin came up for auction I just threw a nuclear bid.....and it is now Home.
Second coin is the 1943 DDO 101 This is the first coin I have seen come up for auction since I have started this set almost 6 years ago. I am glad to have found this coin in MS 65.
Third coin is the 1964 DDR 803 in MS 64 With only 5 coins graded and 4 in MS this is another tough coin to find.
Final Coin is the 1964 d 501 There are only 2 coins graded and this one is the lowest grade AU 58 All of these coins came from the jwb1040 collection.
Thanks for looking and here is the Link to my Registry set 185 coins now down to 50 left. Enjoy Tom

Congrats! That '57-D is one heckuva variety, isn't it?

Those are some nice looking quarters.
Major congrats on the Re-Engraved tail feathers! All those are scarce finds. Nice job getting an attributed '64D FS-501. I believe that would be the hardest to cherrypick from online images. There are so many coins that year that exhibit machine damage on the east side of the mint mark. Beautiful additions to the set my friend!
nice group, I have spent many hours looking for a 57-D as well. Yours has a price guide value of $75 (probably at least 10x's to low).
Love it. You are a true collector, and I love seeing your collection grow.
Nice haul. I was the under bidder on the 57-D.....although your nuke bid would have probably gone much higher.
I guess I will have to find a 57-D in the wild.
Congrats, awesome p/u's

Wow....Nice additions... That '57D is a tough one....Cheers, RickO
Tom, all of those coins are great additions to your set. That 57-D ETF variety may be the steal of the year. Congrats.

Hurray !!!
Very nice !!!
Congrats on those purchases, all are very nice.
The 1964 FS-501 is nice. A same year FS-502 (completely separated RPM) is also very valuable if they can ever be found as they go for a couple thousand dollars in AU condition... too hard to find from ebay photos.
@1tommy , you are like butter because you are on a roll.
Congrats and keep up the good work.

My Washington Quarter Registry set...in progress
Congrats on the new acquisitions! I hope you have more than one holy grail on your list. Enjoy the next challenge!
Congrats! Especially on your Holy Grail!

Fellas, leave the tight pants to the ladies. If I can count the coins in your pockets you better use them to call a tailor. Stay thirsty my friends......
Great acquisitions, and I especially like that 57-d. Looks higher than AU55 to these eyes, but when something is that rare, the grade matters little. The eye appeal is certainly there.
Congrats

Thanks To Everyone for the nice comments.
@cmerlo1 Yes I am still waiting to hold a MS in my hand and now have all three Engraved Tail Feathers( 2 Proofs) and like the 57 d the Best.
@NorCalJack Yes I wake up each day waiting for the coin police to show up.
@from_here_to_brazil I already have the 502 in MS and yes both of the 1964 d are hard to see off ebay. It's always great to have a study piece and find new pickup points that will make identifying new ones easier.
I also know none of these have been to CAC and the 1943 DDO 101 is one of the nicest ms 65 I have seen and think possible upgrade in the future....
Enjoy Tom

This number should/would be down to 49 if PCGS had not completely botched my last variety submission...
Thanks for sharing these super coins. I am with you...the 43 is begging for an upgrade
Were I to collect anything other than the doubled dies in this series it would be the re-engraved feather stuff. I think those are neat.
