Why is Lane being called a Hurricane? I thought tropical storms in the Pacific were termed Typhoons.
Whatever it is called, even 100 mph winds accompanied by torrents of water will be a challenge and hope all stay safe.
We were on the Big Island just after a major storm literally washed away many of the beaches and ocean debris and tree limbs blocked traffic on the coastal roads. Then some years later we were on Kauai during one of its two epic storms of recent memory and the hotel's beach houses where we could have stayed were completely demolished. Fortunately we had booked elsewhere but still witnessed the aftermath of nature's wrath.
@northcoin We would love you and yours to enjoy Maui!
But can you please give me a early scoop before your here so I can bump up the insurance coverage
Sanford, seems like there are quite a few forum members out there with you in beautiful Hawaii. Stay safe (and dry). That storm won't last forever and soon the rest of us will wish we were out there with you. Thoughts and prayers with you all.
it's crackers to slip a rozzer the dropsy in snide
Besides body, I have washed my hair and brushed my teeth with this product. Please try it, you will thank me. I use it every day.
Especially after dealing with a huge gamefish that probably set in my lap and then gutted and filleted. The strong organic peppermint oil really covers the scent.
Hope all turns out well as can be. I've been fortunate and got to visit Oahu and Kauai in '16, and Kauai and Maui in '17, had a blast both times! Last thing I did in Maui was take a tour of the Deep Island distillery, what a fun place and a view to match. Might have to take a sip or two later of the vodka. Stay safe!
Just curious. Which forum members are from Hawaii and what area. I was surprised after posting about Hurricane Lane, that it appears that there are a lot more forum members from Hawaii than I thought.

This morning my Mom insisted on going to Costco 27miles away in town and we thought we get there 30min early
The line was already formed .... snakes around 3 times over... not a single cart left in sight.
Why do people wait for last minute.. I have 2 month supply of medicines, water, food ,ammo ,camping gear always ready

Paradise,
Is that you at the end of the line in the white top and black shorts?
LOL that would be a lot of Mickey D's from the last contest
Oh I better be nice, proper and polite....
No...not me. I am in the car driving out of the lot taking pix the same time

This hurricane has been very slow moving with a crazy path. A sharp left turn spares Oahu and Kauai from direct hits. Hoping that Maui continues our luck.

I wish you all the best. Stay safe!

Took my favorite soap and went outside for an outdoor shower

Generally, a Typhoon is a Hurricane west of the Date Line.

Here's a website I use for tracking flights in and out of airports, in this case PHNL. At smoe point there won't be any inbound flights...

All quiet on the east side of Oahu. No real wind or rain yet. Plenty cloudy tho. I expect it to get much worse.
Renman seems to be trying to wait this one out....:)
My girls got off island last night.....when I got back to island. I think they were on to something!
Many forum friends..

@Timbuk3 - don't pass up that offer!
Everyone in Hawaii please stay safe.
I have already seen photos of people frolicking in the angry surf. Please don't be one of those people who feels a need to go surfing during a storm.
12 inches of rain so far in the big island! Where's it all going? Peace Roy

If it is not this brand, try this brand as you will find it stimulating .....
I like the ALL - ONE magic soap it promotes @ErrorsOnCoins
That thing is huge. Please be safe as you can possibly be.
My thoughts and prayers are with you all, Joe
Besides body, I have washed my hair and brushed my teeth with this product. Please try it, you will thank me. I use it every day.
Warning: It has some really Bizare Scripture and thought printed on the label from the peppermint soaps inventor, kinda trippy
...and your fish too?

I go for the Ocean Vodka before the ALL - ONE liquid soap
I think we are being playful in the calm....waiting to have it pass over the Alenuihaha Channel
Now that you are banned from it, I bet you really want it!
It really is a great product that leaves your skin tingling.
That is some expensive soap! Temping to try but there is no way I would wash my hair and brush my teeth with the same product.
I may try that. Where was it purchased from ???
Costco had it at one point, not sure anymore. Health food stores. The internet if it can be shipped to you.
I just googled it and see Walmart and target, you may have to have it shipped to your store.
Thanks !!!

Hasn't hit Oahu ( Honolulu) yet, but strong winds and rain !!!
It's been calm all day here in Kihei. Light rain off and on. That won't last

You should run a contest to guess the make and model of the vehicle that you are in?
That sounds like fun !!!
5 am Lane track update map

Hoping that Maui continues our luck.
Be Safe and cross no flooded streams, creeks, or rivers today.
Go look at the waterfalls tomorrow.
Geez, if it isn't bad enough with the lava and hurricane, now there's fires burning in Lahaina and Kaanapali (Maui) !!!
My prayers to forum members living on Maui !!!
Some good from bad, bad Lane. Posted in MauiWatch Twitter account yesterday evening.
A stunning sunset, even caused by a hurricane, is a wonder to see.
