Copper / zinc "Brass".
Cool machine. I'd like to know more about it,,,,,, with pictures.
What do these machines cost?
I thought copper and zinc was brass? Bronze is copper and tin, sometimes with other stuff included?
Cool I remember when you last posted that device I checked them out
They were approximately $39.99 w/shp Amazon Prime if I recall.

I am not sure what that is but a couple years ago when I checked the prices on XRF handhelds, they were in the $10-15K range.

That was my poor attempt at humor.
I also saw that it was a pretty pricey tool.
I'm hoping that as with boats and planes I'll get a new neighbor who has one of those scanners.

McDonald's is cheap! It isn't even pure copper or anywhere near it.

$15,000 to $18,000 (it's not mine)
so...it's only 69% copper?
69% copper, 29% Zinc, and 2% Special Sauce....
The hype and clamor on these Big Mac tokens seems to have died down as quickly as it started. Cheers, RickO
Likely it's 70-30. The machine is too precise, probably a variation in the metals mixture.
That machine is Sweet! What does it show when you scan a gold coin? A Morgan? Thanks!

It tells the exact composition, there are usually trace elements like lead, tin, zinc, etc. It's super cool! I like scanning early silverware with it.
@Wabbit2313 1740’s spoon (I think it’s American colonial)
Scan a Morgan Asheland!
Well, I was going to go car-shopping to help my daughter-in-law upgrade her ride, but now...................???

If I remember, I'll ask my friend this Saturday. If he's cool, I'll happily scan one.
Ugh!
Lead, Copper, Tin, Zinc, Germanium, Silver and Gold...talk about leaving a bad taste ones mouth!
