Low mintage coins from circulation.

Stopped by my bank to deposit a check and pick up whatever "funny money" that had saved for me. A few deuces and halves and about a dozen small dollars, including a Mint Set only 1981-S SBA, and a 2012-D Grover Cleveland first term. No big deal and I will do a "catch and release" with them, but it seemed odd to find two average circulated low mintage pieces in the same batch. Not coins just popped out of somebody's collection and spent.

Maybe someone else's accumulation of NIFC coins pulled from rolls or bank pickups?
Wow, neat !!!
Bank tellers get all kinds of stuff.
We had "regulars" who brought in Silver Eagles that people deposited for a ...buck.
Terrible

A couple of months ago I found a 1986 and 1991 ASE in a coin machine reject slot, along with 3 Ike dollars.
I just cannot imagine people depositing ASE's, or putting them in a coin machine.... I understand not everyone collects coins... but really, shouldn't just the size and appearance raise their curiosity? If checkout clerks question a prezzie buck, I would think an individual might have second thoughts on an ASE. Cheers, RickO
WOW. Nice find. Did you report it to the Coinstar thread?

Before Stan Pierce was killed in his Oakland coin shop, he told me about the lady he couldn't convince to stop depositing her gold coins in the bank down the block.
Reason? Pres Roosevelt had told her she had to "turn them in."
Really!
Found an '87-P Kennedy searching rolls which was only issued in mint set, along with two 1969-s proofs, and about 1/2 dozen proof clad halves. When I found these my first thought was someone needed money for smokes.
