One reason why coins are artificially toned.

This naked-eye attractive, colorful coin has curved scratches into its surface from a buffing wheel. The coin was then given a colorful AT surface that was not such a bad job. Always check toned coins with a bright incandescent light. Don't forget to tip and rotate it at the same time!

Sorry, no image of the entire coin:

Such a Shame ! I have a 1995 W American Silver Eagle , See Attached.. Mine resembles the one Image above with all the scratches. Who would do such a thing to a Proof Coin ...

there is only one reason why coins are AT and most of the members already know what it is.

I removed my immediate "disagree" from your post. You are just being "Keets" and if Ricko says you are OK, I'm growing fond of you too. <3

Now, check out my new discussion about AT inspired by your post. :)

Keets is definitely OK...and he does not post indiscriminate opinions. A short discussion with him will reveal his logic behind his statements. Cheers, RickO

I LIKE <3 KEETS! He is a good foil (makes me think) and a valuable, highly regarded member here!
