I need help for Trade Dollar 1878s

Hi all collectors,
I’m seeking for your great help and comments.
Have you ever seen this chopmarked (JAW) in your coins collection? Most chopmarked were randomly chop in Chinese/number/symbol, but rare aligned at the centre.
Anybody in US can help to check this in library? I’m in Asia, my local library didn’t have such reference book.
Appreciate your great help! Thank you

The J.A.W. on this was counter stamped most likely in the U.S.A. and is not a Chinese chop mark.
Agree with @Broadstruck, most likely domestically applied in the States.
@Kush....Welcome aboard.....I agree with the above... this is called a counterstamp (not chopmark). I have not seen this particular counterstamp before - perhaps some other forum members have. Cheers, RickO
Chopmarks are Chinese letters or characters, not letters of English.
Got it!
Mystery solved. Thanks everyone ! Now I can do some research about “counterstamp” Hoorays
Agree, this is a counterstamp, likely applied in the United States not Asia. Occasionally, you will see english letters used as chopmarks (A, S and W are common) but that coin is clearly counterstamped.

Welcome to the CU boards. Usually, when a longtime member has a question they only post it in one place. That way, the folks trying to answer your question don't find it was already answered. You may wish to check out what I wrote about your coin on the other forum.
