Great luncheon meeting

On August second, I had the great pleasure of meeting @keets in person, along with his lovely companion. He was traveling through my area on vacation, and we met for an excellent lunch. The time literally flew by and we actually only mentioned coins once, for about a minute. We touched on many different topics and enjoyed a good lunch. Cheers, RickO

He comes across as a fun person. Does he look like his photo?
@Insider2 .... Similar... yes....Certainly in many ways... Cheers, RickO
That is great. Glad you enjoyed your lunch. I have never met anyone from the forum, but of course I am a newer member. However I am definitely looking forward to it.
this thread is worthless without pictures!!
Hopefully no Big Mac tokens were involved.
Casey was taking the picture and she had a pretty good time, told me later that "Rick was a really sweet man" but she wasn't very enthusiastic about the lunch earlier in the day. I remember she asked how long we'd be and when I asked her why she said "I don't want to be bored and sit through a bunch of coin talk."
as RickO said, the whole deal was almost devoid of coins and the forum, we had too much other stuff to laugh and talk about. Casey tells me I can be coarse and she knows me best, but we tend to laugh at ourselves quite a bit. I have met maybe 20-30 forum members in my short time here, typically at larger shows, and to a man they have been pleasant and entertaining. when I knew we'd be passing close to RickO I reached out and he was as eager as me to sit down, face-to-face, for a short while.
I would encourage every member to take the chance. we may be a diverse group of dis-functional sounding nerds, but we all seem to have more in common than we realize.
if I ever get close to the Catskills again............................
Am I the only one who is wondering who is who?
Ah the mystery.....

Cheers, RickO
Great photo. The smiles tell it all!
If I were to judge RickO's occupation based on the two areas of the Country I know he's lived in, I would guess Lumberjack.
@MANOFCOINS.....Catskill Mountains, NYS.....Cheers, RickO
I'm guessing the guy in the right is Keets.
I give away money. I collect money.
I don’t love money . I do love the Lord God.
Looks like two of the guys I played poker with last night. Would have been hilarious if keets photo shopped ricko in as his pistol avatar.

Nice story, I really enjoy when forum members are able to meet in person. Thank you for sharing !!!
So where is Casey's photo!
when we left RickO we headed first to Bethel, New York and then to Wyoming, Pennsylvania before driving south to Hershey, Pennsylvania where we spent the night. then we went to Hershey's Chocolate World where I took this picture.
Glad the two of you met up. Always fun to meet other forumites in person.
I'm guessing just the opposite.
Great photo of the two of you!

Those are coin nerds if I've ever seen one.
Sounds like a good time!
Coin nerds?? Who you callin' a coin nerd?
Cheers, RickO
I would never think @ricko could do open carry ... he seems too mild mannered

Sounds like you guys had fun...

if anyone ever comes to Northern Vancouver Island...., Comox (YQQ) area
oh yes, that is in Canada
I would be happy to make lunch! ( cooking is my 2. hobby)
...this is way Too Cool of a thread for me not to post before making it past The Picture!!!! Yes!!!...you’se two guys look Awesome!...like kingpin radio DJ’s or OG Rockstars!...I’m gonna go back and read the rest of the thread now...if either one of you two come to San Diego, CA then please PM me and I will show you something fun down here, it’s 70 and sunny most of the time
Truly awesome!
Smitten with DBLCs.
I always figured RickO is like John Wick. A really nice guy until you kill his dog and steal his car...
Ah, Hershey World. I gained 5 pounds just walking through the gift shop.
I stopped there on the way out to a class in Philly. Picked up some virus from some little snot and got me sick for the two weeks I was out there.
Do they still have that cheesy animatronics How-Chocolate-Is-Made show?
Brings back memories here too. First time I was in Hershey, PA they had tours in the actual factory. Now of course it is "Chocolate World." At least one thing remains the same - free samples.
That's easy enough. Ricko is the one without the "toning/tarnish".
Took kids and grandkids to Hershey this year, couldn't believe how expensive it was. I could have bought many of the things on my want list for what I spent on three days there (still wouldn't trade it though).
PS...aren't those some scary looking dudes. lol
Very nice.....
I've got get to a decent show one of these days and meet up with some people.
Great thread! I hope to meet more forum members in the future.
My YouTube Channel
I actually always imagined @ricko with a big Windex dangling from a carpenters belt...and a rag somewhere on said belt.
@marcmoish...I do NOT do windows.....
Cheers, RickO
Two of my favorite forum guys having lunch without me!

@DIMEMAN ...Not intentional Jon....Just that you were not in the area....Would be great fun if the three of us got together. Cheers, RickO
Jon, you and a few dozen guys have an open invitation from me. I live about a mile north of I-90 between Erie, Pa. and Cleveland, if you're driving by just PM.
My instinct tells me that Ricko on the right and Keets on the left. However I was expecting ricko to be a bit older...

Very cool.
I love reading stories like this one.
Me included?
I just want to know if RickO had the French DIP !
@topstuff.... Definitely NO!! It was at the Hickory BBQ & Smokehouse, so I had the Hickory's Philly Cheese Steak sandwich.... It was great. Cheers, RickO
PF you would always be included.

if you get to the linked thread it is about maybe the ultimate "forum member" gathering I have attended. it was at the 2003 ANA Show held in Baltimore. another memorable gathering was at the Pittsburgh ANA, maybe in 2004-2005, that was held at the Church Brewery.
That;s nice. But was it BLAST WHITE?
Only the bread....
Cheers, RickO
Sounds like y'all had a good time............awesome
