A FB acquaintance posted this image. Anyone know who minted such a coin?

Did he have an image of the other side? Very unusual. I've never seen it before.
Anti-Jewish junk. 1932 was the last year of the Weimar Republic in Germany. The Nazis came to power after that.

I don't know. I had also never seen anything like it before.
Very possible that's what it is.
I don't think that is true. That is NOT, in my interpretation, a Swastika over a star of David. It is 4 nested good luck symbols. Prior to the Nazi use of the symbol, the bent cross was commonly used as a good luck symbol. You see it on a lot of Good luck tokens from the 20s and earlier. The star of David is also a good luck symbol as is the four leaf clover as is the eye, which I believe is a Nazar(?) according to the internet.

Just a good luck token from the 1930s like these
You might be right, but when I see a swastika over the Star of David, I recoil.

The reverse probably holds the key to its meaning. The eye of providence and the four leaf clover don't seem to tie into the rise of the Nazi party in Germany. It could very well be anti-Jewish but it could have some other meaning as well.
But what entity actually minted these types of coins in 1932 and why the swastika?

Yes, the Nazis kind of ruined that symbol, among others. Many of their symbols were originally Classical. After 2000 good years, they kind of ruined them for probably the next 2000 years.
If you look at the pictures I found of the other side of the coin, it is clearly a good luck token not Nazi propaganda.
It's not a Swastika, it WAS a common good luck symbol pre-Nazi. If you look at the pictures I found, it appears to be a good luck trade token issued by Stewart Warner.
NOT anti-Jewish. They are all just good luck symbols. Look at the photos I posted. Just a good luck trade token.
Not the end of the Depression either.
Well, they were hoping.
If you remember, there was a brief rebound followed by a worse plunge.
The other side may say "Stop Crying, Start Buying" - more an appeal for people to start behaving normally again
Fair enough.

Somehow it gives me the chill.....
I remember. Then there was 1937.
This will answer many questions.
Origin of the swastika:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swastika
"The reverence for the swastika symbol in some cultures, in contrast to the stigma in others, has led to misinterpretations, misunderstandings and mutual accusations."
Personally I hate it, but globally it is what it is.

Fantastic token. Very historical, shows business trying to drag America out of the Great Depression by trying to encourage economic activity. 1932 was as it turns out overly optmistic. It took WWII to truly end that.
The version of the swastika (most nazi swastikas are at an angle) that is shown here was as others have said a good luck symbol. The juxtaposition of that symbol with the six pointed star is unfortunate by today's standards but it had no ill meaning when this was issued.
Absolute nonsense. It is some sort of lucky token celebrating the beginning of better days ahead. A clue to its origin may be on the other side.
Oops, Did not read the entire thread before posting. One day I'll learn.
If the token was issued in 2016 it would have said "Make America Great Again"
It appears to be a relative of the infamous "Swami" coin with various "good luck" emblems.

We are being presumptive when we assume that is a Nazi Swastika and a Star of David. For all we know that could be a Swastika inside of a hexagram which is a symbol sometimes used in Buddhist culture. Maybe this is a Buddhist symbol used to strike fear into the heart of Rohingya Muslims? Obviously not. My point is context is important.
Ironically the Star of David and the Swastika have parallels in their history. Both were created as peaceful symbols and were eventually used to oppress Semitic groups in one way or another. The Swastika's origins from Aryan lands to its perversion into Germanic supremacy is similar to the Star of David's original use of global unification turned into local divisiveness of Semites. Context is important and it is quite clear the Swastika isn't being used to be Anti-Jewish while the Star of David (If it is the Star of David) isn't being used to say only Jews have the right to self determination in the land of Israel.
Interesting token, and certainly taken in totally the wrong context by modern society. It was intended as a lucky symbol and motivation for improved commerce. Such a shame that a symbol (the swastika), that for thousands of years represented good luck and other positive (often religious) endeavors, was ruined (for western cultures) by a mad fool bent on domination. Cheers, RickO
I just compensated for the childish "disagree" left without comment to your very humorous post.
It looks like Stewart Warner was a manufacturer of car and airplane gauges during the 1930s.
Radios with this name were also manufactured about the same time. Not sure if they were the same company who made both products.
Edited to add: Heat exchangers and scoreboards, too. Sold in 1987 to a British Company who moved the business to Mexico.
Unfortunately, I cannot flag my own post for abuse to alert the mods that you are back to your previous actions of stalking certain members. So...
@BillDugan1959
Please have the courtesy to explain your disagreement with my post. Does it have to do with you and your "tag-team-buddy" having progressive political views who become offended at the idea/slogan: "MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN?"** Or, are you just being humorous? At least your buddy left some good information that was pertinent to the OP's question.
In southeast Asia, the swastika has a religious or lucky meaning. Yup the Nazis screwed that one up. Peace Roy

I don't know why he's "My buddy". The insertion of the "Make America Great Again" is not offensive to progressives because it appears designed to draw a parallel between MAGA and the "Swastika" that people are misinterpreting the token to represent. It is gratuitous, in either case, as the original token is not political in nature, it is a good luck trade token.
I won't bother to "disagree" with you. But I assume "My Buddy" is objecting to your accusation of the "disagree" as being childish. Or, maybe he's disagreeing that the original post was humorous. But I"m not sure much explanation is really required.
Very few folks know what the "Swastika" actually represented. I guess it is similar to what has happened to the word "Gay." **Your original post and others in this thread are very informative. I thought I had left you an "agree" but I see I didn't as this was the thread I did not completely read before blasting the anti-Jewish opinions. I read somewhere that Hitler adopted the Swastika for his movement for precisely what it did signify at the time just as he adopted the dupes in the Christian Church who did not see his true aims for Germany.
Nevertheless, my scorn and distaste for members who "disagree" with another w/o stating a reason remain. IMO, It is generally something confined to very new members and trolls!
As I wrote several times before, it is very lucky I'm not a moderator as I would crack down on that practice by suggesting (in a very nice way) that folks should always post a reason for a disagreement as that is how we inform and learn. My opinion has been changed by a member who disagreed with it. I especially like the members who correct any errors in my posts!
PS We become associated with the folks we imitate.
I will retract my disagree. However, my distaste for randomly inserting politics remains. Not, usually, because it disagrees with my politics, but because it usually shoves a thread off the proverbial cliff.
The poster was trying to make a comparison of the Nazi's with Trump which is not funny.

" Although refereed to as swastika tokens by collectors, these pieces actually depict an American Indian good luck symbol. Representing the (4) four directions north-east-west-south. The Indian symbol , in both left-handed and right-handed versions. Appears on many early 20th century good luck tokens, advertising tokens, trade tokens, and local political campaign tokens.
After the Nazi Party adopted their swastika in the 1930's
use of this symbol on Americans token ceased.
The Nazi's mainly rotated the symbol on a 45 degree axis.

Which is a valid point after all! It took Hitler at least two tries to bring Germany out of the chaos and punishment they deserved for their previous actions. He was put into jail for it once before his efforts to be elected worked. He dupped the German people and caused a black mark that affected the entire world.
Donnal Trump won an election (just as Hitler did) because he wants to improve this country from the state it had fallen into. I hope he or someone else can do it. We need to wait to see the outcome.
It is a real shame to me that folks cannot discuss matters that affect us all (TPGS's, CAC) without being hateful. I want to thank the member who posted links to political forums for those interested in the more important things in life besides coins!

Welcome to the forum. It is probably rare that a fairly new member as you took the time to read the rules so he/she can keep several of us in line.
Do you collect tokens or are you just checking the discussions?
This.
When I attended Wayne State University in Detroit my first classes were in the Old Main building, which had been built as a grand, central high school before World War One. In the lobby was a Pewabic Tile (an interesting art movement; look it up) drinking fountain decorated with swastikas around the edge. It was a relic, not a political statement.
I knew that the swastika was a good luck symbol but I never knew that the Star of David was also a good luck symbol. Learned something new here.

Anyone know what the symbols in the lower left are? Egyptian Hieroglyph for luck would seem appropriate.
The comment I made about "make America great again" had absolutely nothing to do with our President being like the Nazis. (Please note that the symbol on the GOOD LUCK token have the four pointed cross symbol rotated in the traditional method.) I simply noticed that the date was 1932 on the GOOD LUCK token. It was a time when optimism about the country's future may have been in short supply. A landslide victory in the presidential election was had by a candidate namely Franklin Roosevelt. My parents grew up during the depression and I am a student of history. My comment was "on topic" in my opinion. Remember those unable to learn from history are doomed to repeat it.
from Wikepedia: The swastika (as a character 卐 or 卍) is a geometrical figure and an ancient religious icon from the cultures of Eurasia, where it has been and remains a symbol of divinity and spirituality in native European religions, Indian religions, Chinese religions, Mongolian and Siberian shamanisms.[1][2][3][4] According to René Guénon, the swastika represents the north pole, the centre and the axle of the world, the activity of the absolute God of the universe shaping the world.[5] The symbol is drawn either in the stars around the celestial north pole (the Big Dipper) or in the stars around the ecliptic north pole (Draco). In the Western world, it was a symbol of auspiciousness and good luck, the Sun and Indo-European peoples ;....(here is where they go on to explain about the Nazis in Germany etc.)
I know its history predates the usurpation of the swastika by AH but this one is a very unfortunate irony.
That was a nice link I missed that thank you.
