Interesting PCGS holder

I just happened upon this and noticed it's a new style PCGS holder but the gasket is not the prong type. Though I don't like the prong gasket generally, the viewing of this little coin would benefit from it.

Perhaps if the diameter is small enough they use the old style gaskets?

I think @asheland is correct... a tiny coin like that would require a different retainer. Cheers, RickO

I'm not sure why they do that.. I've had a couple of recent reholders, both Dollars, come back with the solid gasket.
In fact, the coin I am selling right now is one of them.

I like the solid gasket on some denominations.

I like the solid gasket on bigger stuff.

Actually, I just now remembered that last year I sent a toned silver eagle in. Regular gasket.

Yep, on tiny coins they still use this style. I had my avatar piece reholdered and trueviewed, and was hoping for the prong style so you could see the octagon shape better, but it came back in this style.

maybe they have leftover inventory of solid gaskets.

I wish I could request solid gaskets on some coins

I am thinking you should be able to write in the request for the gasket style variety. Then follow up with a phone call. Maybe you have the option or maybe you do not. I don’t see why you cannot try after all they both may work. If you don’t ask you will never know. I do agree with the hecktagon coin the prong style would look better.
