I usually find only half of an eating utensil. This pewter spoon was a gift from the 1700's. I have been finding English hallmarked pewter but this one does not. This spoon was near a 1787 Connecticut copper, an 1810 and 1831 large cent. Peace Roy

Very nice find Roy.... You must be in the Northeast, finding items that old.... I do not recall if I asked you what general area you are in... I am in NYS... Catskill Mountains... very old area (settled late 1600's).... Cheers, RickO

I live in New Hope Pa, which is central Bucks co., and across the Delaware river is Hunterdon co. NJ. The original York Road from Philadelphia to New York runs right in front of my house. Have a good day. Peace Roy
