Why do I think no good is going to come from doing so? I'll find out I guess...
Just 1 hour to go.
Great catch Joebb21!

@joebb21 Great catch! @DaveWcoins great detective work!
By the time I saw this post, the coin was sold, and for good money. @joebb21 can you tell us how you first suspected then determined that it was CF? What was the first thing that popped out at you... then how did you continue evaluating it?
After knowing that it was CF, I noticed how horrible all the images were. There is not a flat image of the obverse, and with all of the photos being of it tilted, it looks like there is some problem with the denticles and /or edge at the bottom. I also noticed that the seller has no other items up for sale. I noticed that the description tries to focus you towards greed and is not an impartial description of the coin. Limited feedback history. (BTW, what does "private listing" mean when looking at the bidding history?)

Experience is a good starting point.
The coin was very bright looking but details looked very flat.
The stars and other details looked mushy and strike was just way to soft.
Holder font also looked off
I didn't see the original auction pics... I'm being redirected to an active auction for an 1895-O in AU-50 ICG plastic. That one looks real, but it looks like a dipped out 45 at best...
Collecting: Dansco 7070; Middle Date Large Cents (VF-AU); Box of 20;

This is the new way eBay is advertising. If you want to see the actual listing of the counterfeit coin/holder, click on the OP's link and than click on "listing" where it says, "The listing you’re looking for is no longer available. Check out this similar item we found for you. "..........or you can click on this link: https://ebay.com/itm/-/202387976725?nordt=true&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l10137

sent seller a note and reported.

Wow. Pretty deceptive.
Here is the "real" coin, which sold at Heritage in January 2018. Note that the Genuine one is in a newer style PCGS holder (among other "tells"):

sent seller a note and reported as well.

I would not bid on ANY COIN with bad images or taken at an angle as this is.
How can you tell it is counterfeit?
