Thanks to Steve and reed for working with me on a 75 Topps Baseball wax box today. I finally landed this one that completes my run of regular issue Topps wax boxes from 1973 to present. Bbce is simply the BEST!

HA..... probably not.... the next one is the 73 football box to complete that run
Congrats! I saw that box at the BBCE booth and thought that someone will be taking it home. Enjoy!!!
congratulations!!!!!
So you already had the 75 mini?
Just kidding ... I was contemplating doing a similar period just for a pack per year, cannot imagine doing the run with boxes. That is certainly a whale. Nice job.
Thx guys, I hope to build up some cash and nab a 73 football box in Chicago next year
Congrats!
Congrats!

I believe the 75 box here is the one.
Collecting Unopened from '72-'83; mostly BBCE certified boxes/cases/racks.
Prefer to buy in bulk.
i like the ted williams box in the picture
Thx for posting the pic..... it looks like the desert shield box is missing. I think 10k was the price. I was surprised thinking that was about a $7,500 box but I guess I was wrong. Lol
Maybe a silly question as I don't collect unopened - 1975 wax box $14k, 1975 cello $6.5k - why such a wide price discrepancy?

It's very difficult to find regular sized wax. Cellos are relatively plentiful. Fritsch has plenty of them available, and probably a ton more they are sitting on. Wax is TOUGH.
Oh, and congratulations on the pickup!!
+1
Same reason you can purchase a graded PSA 9 1970 cello for about $500 while even a PSA 8 1972 cello would command upwards of 2K.
Collecting 1970s Topps baseball wax, rack and cello packs, as well as PCGS graded Half Cents, Large Cents, Two Cent pieces and Three Cent Silver pieces.
I agree it does seem like a large difference in the two but legit. I can’t remember the last time I have seen a 75 regular box sell. Just like a 73 football box...... that is a 10-13k apparently which seems crazy because there is not a ton of rookies in it but they are so tough to find
Thanks for the details re: wax vs. cello. I mistakenly thought the value was predominantly in the # of cards (e.g. wax 360 cards vs. cello at 432 cards) not based on the availability of one distribution / packaging form over another. Hence the question as the card count vs. price disparity didn't balance in my mind.

Very nice pickup!
What a difference a year makes, the 75 is twice the price of the 76.
