I normally don't post on here, but yesterday a metal detectorist came by the shop , he had just found a 1796 Dime, was XF details, but had some surface issues. and unfortunately a small hole, but still neat at the least. Meant to snap a pic, but forgot, but I think he wants me to send it in, so Il take one then and add to this post

He hasn't brought it back yet, folks, as soon as he does, promise Ill get some pics posted
I'll bet he is showing it to other dealers. Hopefully, he didn't clean it.
i do hope it proves to be real good
Being as your new here, you get a one time pass.
I thought the rule of thumb was pictures first then question.
(I'm in that mood today)
I went out yesterday to a school yard that a construction company is moving a lot of dirt to put in a bus drop off driveway where the playground use to be.
After 20 plus pop tops and a few new monster drink cans, I figured it was a time waister.
(found one 2002 dime)
No need for a photo spread on that one.
Were they 'vintage' pop tops? You know, the ones you peeled off? Or just the new one's... Cheers, RickO
I don’t necessarily need pictures but thank you for the description! Sounds like an amazing find!
Very cool.
Any update on this?
Is this an American 1796 dime or a
1796 silver coin the size of a dime? I found a 1796 Spanish silver the other day that I was positive was a merc or barber until I wiped her off.
Sorry, 1786
sorry folks , guy never brought it back in the shop!
@PaTreasureHunter ... That is a Spanish coin.... still a great find....Congratulations...Cheers, RickO
I thought I had identified that. Sorry, my bad.
