My Dad's Crew and B-24H 'Doc' in Lecce, Italy 1945, almost over. 2 crash landings and never lost a crew member. Lucky group of men. His 1st crash was with B-24 named RUTH PLEASE! named after my mom. Crashed in Zara(Zadar), Croatia returning from a bombing run on Vienna, plane was hit by flak and lost a pair of engines and Zara was as far toward Lecce, Italy as they got. A truly great father for 56 years.
