Narita Airport - The owners of this farm didn't want to move, so the airport was built around them. It makes for a shorter runway than its parallel. I'd always up the auto brakes a notch when I landed on 34R. Between the runways (not shown) is a house - owner did not want to move either, the taxiway takes a slight bend around his place.
Thanks for including the narrative.
As a passenger I landed and departed from Narita in November. Upcoming flight will be in and out of Haneda so will miss looking for those houses on the tarmac.
That’s very cool! And I remember Service Merchandise. That’s a cool memory revisited. 👍

Agree-used to love going through the catalog

That’s really cool! 👍
FWIW I may have owned the first camcorder in the US. If I recall correctly it was a “National” better known in the US as “Panasonic.” It came directly from Japan before camcorders were officially imported to the U.S.
It was quite an innovation having the camera and the tape recording device in the same unit.

Came across this cool rig yesterday. The camper top pops up to allow stand-up headroom and the availability of a cab over bunk.
Actually ticks off quite a few boxes for the RV crowd:
Small and compact enough to fit in a standard parking space/garage.
Four Wheel Drive for winter snow driving and for off road adventures.
Two rows of seating in the extended cab to allow for 4-5 persons who get to face forward.
(The owner of this rig was using the second row for his dog.)
Toyota reliability.
Compact pickup gas mileage.
Minimal wind resistance when driving due to the fold-down pop top.

It’s not Friday but I don’t care. Ladymarcovan captured this shot of Huckleberry and Grace recently. It’s too adorable not to share.
I thought it might be the McDonald characters that were on the outside playgrounds

For this week's Friday posting, here photos from the week that was:
Not my photo but taken earlier this month and shared by a friend. A unique combination of both "Diamond Fuji" and "Reflection Fuji."
For comparison here was a photo of Mount Fuji I took in November:
Photos from this Friday eve evidencing that the Spirit of Christmas still lingers here:

And from this Friday the 13th afternoon as viewed from the office - Mount Foraker (left) and Denali (right) glow on the horizon:
