This is a stray cat I rescued. She used to hang around a house I was renting years ago. One day, I thought she looked hungry so I gave her a can of tuna on my porch. After that she basically adopted me. I named her Huki (pronounced Who-key). She was the sweetest cat and would make eye contact for incredibly long periods of time.

From yesterday afternoon - The Rain is not going to stop this picnic and the Games must go on! If the band could play as the Titanic was sinking, these musicians are not going to let liquid sunshine dampen their play.
My grandpa is the little boy standing, with his dad and mom, and his mom holding his sister. I’ve always loved this photo with their Ford! They moved from Colorado to Kansas about 1920. There’s no one alive that knew his sister, she passed away at the age of 13 and Grandpa passed away about 5 years ago at the young age of 99 and he was absolutely not ready to go yet. I’ve been trying to plan a trip up to visit her grave next time I’m in the midwest which is usually once a year.

For this week's Friday - photos from Friday.
From the river's mouth to ours.
FWIW, we spent the first three hours without catching a single fish.
By that point in time the strong currents had taken their toll, I had stepped into a hole and fell into the ocean water and my companion had been drenched by the wave from a passing commercial fishing boat. We were ready to call it a day and head home but decided to stick around long enough to at least get one fish.
Then, twenty later, and within an hour after high tide (just after slack tide) the fish showed up and we were able to completely fill the cooler with as many Sockeye (Red) Salmon as we wanted in an hours time.
(It was notable how we went from cold, wet and miserable to completely exhilarated with the expended physical effort required to bring in our catch warmed us up.)

Completely missed those lights the first time.
Glad it’s not blowing south. There’s no smoke in So. Cal. at least. Lol.
