Here's a really kool Trade $ I recently picked up... So now I went from owning an MS63 chop mark Trade $, to a lowball G06 PCGS graded one.
BTW It's a POP 1 coin too... ![]()

That’s really cool, I’m trying to remember if I’ve seen a chopped trade with less detail...
And great color on this coin

Yup, it's "cool" !!!
Don’t think the Chinese would stamp an underweight coin like that. I would guess it was an old timers pocket piece due to the retone. Cool coin

Same year & mm (1875 S)...
Agree with Crypto, I think it was chopped first then circulated extensively or was a pocket piece.
The chops on it are pretty kool.

Thanks !!!
Were marks punched on the designs as to not be easily worn away?
That is beautiful. I really like lowballs and that is truly unique.
Thanks for sharing!

No, chopmarks were stamped on the coin pretty randomly in most cases.

Nice. Remarkable that a coin that worn survives without issues that would keep it from straight grading or any coin that worn. I guess that is why straight graded lowballs are uncommon and desirable.
I always find these interesting they survived enough to get that worn without having anything damage them majorly. Nothing to designate them a details coin! I like it and I am usually not big on chop marks!
A government accident left me a former man, a potato. That photo on my profile is a low resolution selfie. I like coins.
