I thought you guys would like this one:
Gorham belt buckle, 1898, made (I'm guessing) to look like leather?
Set stone in the middle, I found it on ebay and figured it would go very high.
I got it for a SONG! (I routinely pay more for a tank of gas) >:)
I guess they call this Trompe l'oeil

    I thought at first Amethyst, but when I got it, it's red in person. Then I thought maybe garnet, but looking closely, I think honestly it's just colored glass, but the silver work is truly what impresses me. It's all hand done!

    Just my opinion but I think it is ugly.
    Beauty is in the eye of the beholder however so that is all that mattrs.
    I am sure I have purchased many items others would consider ugly.
    Just sayin’!
