For me it was in 2005 when I found a few true "Speared Bison" varieties in a few rolls, 7 of them in one roll that all graded between 64 and 66, other than that some silver quarters recently in some boxes of quarters I got from one of my banks I deal with. Other than those, nothing real extraordinary.
When I was in college I worked in a local grocery store. One evening I was running a cash register and a lady paid for her groceries with bills plus a roll of nickels. My register ran out of nickels so I cracked the roll open - it was a roll of 40 Buffalo nickels. Some were dated and some were not but I bought them all.
As a teenager in the early 60's I found a 1913-S T2 and 1926-S Buffalo nickel. Still have them. Even though they aren't in the best shape I recently had them graded. Both are great candidates for a Low Ball registry.

Since they are both S-mint - did you find them in California?

So, approximately what year did you find the 12-D? Was it in a roll of Buffalo's or Jefferson's?
Unless I am mistaken, this is a 1912-S. Once found a VG in a bulk purchase of V-nickels from a B&M. Initially mistook it for a D because mintmark looked rectangular at first glance.
Proud recipient of the coveted "You Suck Award" (9/3/10).

Seven Die #1 DDRs and six Die #4 DDRs in a roll made up from 1970-D Mint sets.
1970-S cent DDO FS-101 which graded AU-55 at PCGS.
An authorized PCGS dealer, and a contributor to the Red Book.
Dimes, that is.
That was a hell of a find, Rich.
I don't know if this counts, but from an unsearched bag of wheaties from a coin show as a kid, I found a 1922 no D in VF/XF and a 1940 proof cent.
Ok, I will remember that

I don’t really roll hunt but while looking through relatives change I found a off center quarter!
I just had a half roll of 1935 P Lincolns. Two of them went MS 67 at PCGS and both got green beans.
An MS67 1969-D Half. Three of them, from two rolls. Price guide was 2-3K each at the time.
