I don't think so.....and I am 100% sure it will not sell for the price listed. Cheers, RickO
@Ricko ya think? Maybe I should get it for my birthday
Kind regards,
George
@giorgio11 ... I think you will find that your prime rib lunch is a better investment - and you will have enough cash left for supper.... Cheers, RickO
Dream,dream, dream.
Let me list my house......I need two of them
43 watchers, and none of them are interested in buying it, just want to see if it sells
But look at how big and shiny the sticker is!
"A Green CAC sticker means that a coin is choice and high-end for its grade, and could even be under-graded. CAC rejects 94% of the coins that they examine, in our recent experience. "
I thought this has been on eBay all year?
Seeing the photo posted here, I thought "not bad". When I clicked on the listing, I looked and then said out loud "Well, welcome to stupid-ville!".
The coin itself is superb. The $1 million asking price is why we are critical (for those who won't click or who view this in the distant future).
The heart is for pumping blood, the brain is for thinking. I don't love it near that much.
@cameonut2011 Would you please tell us what source you are quoting above? Thank you.
Kind regards,
George
That statement is made within the auction listing, seemingly by the seller.
Are WE important enough to question such elite sellers?
Ah. Thanks for that @BillDugan1959 copying @cameonut2011.
Kind regards,
George
Why doesn't someone make the seller an offer of 2 cents
Who is the prospective seller (the eBay name doesn't ring a bell)?
I don't know but it must be someone important to be owning million dollar coins.
The $100 Ebay bucks has me thinking

@topstuf Somebody here must know the prospective seller's real name.
Unless it is some really hinkey deal where somebody is trying to sell something they don't own, but could get a hold of.
I got a kick out of this part of the writeup:
"We feel that this spectacular CAC copper is worth our asking price. Anyone is free to disagree, just as we disagree with the alleged values of extremely common, vastly overpriced modern junk -- that has mintages and survivors in the millions or BILLIONS each -- being sold for four, five, or even six figure amounts. This 1857 penny is a REAL collectible coin whose uniqueness warrants its high price.
This exceptionally beautiful violet, blue, gold, and red jewel is the single finest certified 1857 Large cent of any grade, color, or variety of the Large OR Small Date. It is vastly underrated in the tiny, brainwashed subculture of aging, hardcore coin dealers and collectors, who in our opinion have no clue about its true value and significance."
Get the mustard out. Where are my Hawaiian shirts?
Kind regards,
George
"....the tiny, brainwashed subculture of aging, hardcore coin dealers and collectors, who in our opinion have no clue...."
There's probably a way tinier subculture of collectors who can appreciate unsubtle deprecation before before forking over 7 figures

Well if not for that 1 cent maybe. One million dollars and one cent?
100x PCGS price guide?
wow
On my end here... it's not gonna happen.
Oft-times it will make little sense
To wash, then repeat and then rinse.
But they think it’s OK
To relist on Ebay
These massively overpriced cents.
Here's a warning parable for coin collectors...
