I have been away from collecting for quite a while. I noticed a 1932D Wash quarter in MS65 has dropped in price significantly. What happened.

    1. Fewer collectors overall
    2. For the highest grade coins (still in demand for a few registry set collectors): Plus grades happened?
      There are 5 MS-65+ now, and 2 MS-66.

Washington quarter collecting became very popular when the state quarters were being issued. As often happens, collectors got bored after a few years and moved on to other interests.
