Walter Johnson (the pitcher) had the best batting average ever for one season.

In 1925 -- at age 37, no less -- he hit .433 in 107 PA with two HR and 20 RBI. In addition to being a great hitting year "for a pitcher", the .433 batting average is the highest in MLB history for anyone who had at least 107 PA in a season.

One of sports all time intimidating nicknames, too.
As the story goes, his nickname was because of his fastball. Scouts said you could hear it whistle - like most fastballs - but that his sounded like the whistle from...
...'The Big Train'.

He is also the only pitcher who had the lowest H/9inn , the lowest BB/9inn and highest K/ 9inn , all in the same season . Many have had 2 of those 3 , but only Walter did all 3 in the same season .
In the discussion for greatest pitcher of all time - for sure.
