    Is it safe?

It is a 1982 large date. It is not worth more than one cent.

Here’s a tip, if you need different angles and blown up pictures, you don’t have a Doubled Die that’s worth anything.

    It is not.

That is not necessarily true. Not all DDO's are as well pronounced as the 1955 DDO.

    I like the dot between the 9 & 8.

Good Eye! Many interesting things are often overlooked on common coins of all denominations and ages.

I hope the OP posts this in the "Dots On Coins" discussion. It looks Mint made and very unusual.

Have we confirmed this is a copper cent? If it is zinc I don't think dots are significant.

Good point. However, I've never seen a perfect "dot" as this on a zinc cent and I peed my pants when I saw this dot that another member pointed out.

Don't blame the coin - after a certain age, it doesn't take even take that much.

Out of my own curiosity... what do you think the magnification is on that dot ?

If this "Dot" 83 Cent goes on to be a very rare variety......do I get a partial discovery credit! ;):oB)

No one seems to care about these coins. Unfortunately, neither of us owns it. :(
