Following up on Paradisefound's D-A-D thread ...
Hope all here, either as sons/daughters of fathers or as fathers of sons/daughters, are enjoying this Father's Day Weekend.
Here is one way to do it. In Carson City, Nevada they hold a 54.8 mile "Epic Mountain Bike Race" that starts out at an elevation of 4,700 feet and climbs an additional 6,800 feet.
All participants climb their way into the eastern edge of the Sierra Nevada, take in huge views of Lake Tahoe, Washoe Valley and the Carson Valley while connecting some of the area’s favorite (and challenging) pieces of singletrack, double track, gravel roads and the occasional paved segment.
Happy to report that my own son survived the course despite being thrown over his handle bars twice and returning with bad bruises, and scrapes on his knees, shin and hands.
And to keep it coin related, the race begins in iconic Carson City, home of the historic Carson City Mint.

Right ON @northcoin.....he is as much as accomplished one as his sister! I can just imagine how proud you are. Bravo!
Wow... that is quite the race... and a beautiful area of our country.... Cheers, RickO
Wow.....quite an accomplishment! Makes me tired just reading about it.
Looks like a great course - I'd prefer is as a run, as I hate going endo. Happy Father's Day!

Thanks all.
Need to add:
I have been corrected, the elevation climb was 6,800 feet on top of the 4,700 foot starting elevation.
Sweet !!!
Wow, that sounds like a grueling ride.
Congrats to him on his completion.

I just visited Carson City in May.
The Mint and the whole Nevada State Museum was worth the drive.
