three wheat pennies

these three wheat pennies are in my collection

this one my sister in law gave me a 1932d

and this one i found in change this year a 1941

The first has been professionally blue-shoe-polished back in the day.
(a time worn tradition amoung the wealthy.)
the pre-WW2 is most likely sanded/cleaned to bring out the legends. Decieving yet
telling. Watch out for that one.
Are either of them hollow?

I don't know how others feel, but when I see a wheat or memorial cent with this look I often like it.

no my sister in law knew i collected coins and thought i'd like the 1932d
and the 1941 i found in change three months ago while looking though my change from shopping

Old cents that are commerce worn. The '32D has picked up a lot of grunge... I have found a couple of cents from the '40's recently in change... and one in a coinstar reject slot. Cheers, RickO

Does this blue stuff ever turn like a crayon green that's darker than verdigris? I've seen tons just never knew what it was. Sometimes it's black from getting grimy.

The 1941 Cent is neat because you can reference it for where to spot circulation wear on the high points.

In my opinion, wheat cents can look really nice in many different ways, stages of wear, conditions, etc. (Just like I feel about many other series).

I do not own a beautiful red example, but love how they look.

Or, they can have that beautiful circulation cameo, not bordering into corrosion or environmental damage, and to get one like this in change is fantastic.

Two Wheat cents

I bought the top coin online twelve years ago and posted it here getting answers as to how it was made.

A member who found the lower cent in change posted an image of it.
I asked him if he'd sell it to me and finally about six years later he offered it to me for a song.

Stablemates I call them.
