Need help identifying confederate currency

Hello,

This is my first time posting on this forum. I need help identifying what exactly I have here. These were my grandmothers. She passed away about 30 years ago and they were passed down to my father. He isn't 100% certain when or where she originally got them, but he said they have been in our family for as long as he can remember. So, they have belonged to us for a minimum of 80 years, so I would assume they are authentic. This is out of my area of expertise, but I'm sure someone out there knows exactly what these are and an approximate value? Thank you for any and all advice. The backs of the notes of the first picture are blank.

  • That's a shame. Crazy how long people have been counterfeiting these! Thanks for the help guys!

These were purchased at gift shops. They are not counterfeits, but gift shop souvenirs.

  • Thanks for the insight. As you can tell I know nothing about coins or currency. I guess I will keep them since they have been in the family this long. At least I know she wasn't ripped off with counterfeits years ago and likely paid very little to nothing for them at a souvenir shop. Thanks again for the quick replies. You guys are on it on these forums!

I'll post pictures of the real thing tomorrow.

Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?
