CU "other sites"

Quick question that maybe someone without a "collecting time gap" can answer:

Both Collectors.com (https://www.collectors.com/) and Collectors Corner (http://www.collectorscorner.com/Coins/) fall under the Coin Universe (CU) umbrella. Yet, they seem to have the same purpose: Aggregating coin offerings from multiple sellers under a single search engine.

How did this come to be? Did two initiatives sort of grow in the same direction, or did CU buy out someone, and their search feature is now an unnecessary appendage?

For what it's worth, I much prefer Collectors.com. Much easier to use!
