It looks like an AE sestertius of Vespasian, around 72 AD.
A lot like RIC 390 in this photo, except the portrait on your coin faces left (many of his do).

The obverse legend on your coin looks something like:
IMP T CAES VESPA ... COS VIII

    Reverse legend is common:
    VICTORIA AVGUSTI S C

It is probably a real Sestertius of Vespasian. Unfortunately, it looks like it spent a very long time buried and has corroded badly. Still, this is the kind of coin that can be a good conversation starter with members of the general public. "Wow, a coin that is almost two thousand years old! Where did you get it? How much is it worth?" Perhaps a new collector will be born.

    All glory is fleeting.

I see a lot of cloth fibers on the surface. I would avoid cleaning this coin or handling the surface. It appears it could be authentic. Nice find
