New quarters storage

I went by my bank yesterday and picked up two rolls of quarters because I was hoping to get more of the quarters meant for Guam, DC, Puerto Rico, etc. Just my luck that they were regular State Quarters, but they look brand new. For instance, I got 15 almost new 2007 Montana quarters with barely a scratch on them.
Should I just repack my quarters back into the paper rolls for now until I can get better storage later on, or can you recommend something?? What is good for long term storage?

I give you this advice as someone who has been there (and still is, to some extent). Saving quantities of new coins is almost always a waste of time, or at least not the best use of your money.

Get some plastic quarter storage tubes, and if they are uncirculated then pick out the best 2 or 3 of each design/mintmark, and deposit the rest.

If you have a specific plan for certain coins then you might want to hoard them (I have a few such projects myself) but in general you should resist stockpiling coins that will never be in real demand.

Not too long ago I got some rolls of nickels and quarters at the bank - they were all someone's collection, original rolls, some going back to the 1990s. Saved for all those years and only worth face value....

If you like them keep them. That simple. You can put them in the paper tube or buy a 50 cent quarter plastic tube for them or you could put them in 2x2s. Even though some haven't had good luck with these of you enjoy them keep them

Take those 15 and lay them out next to each other. See if any jump out at you. Eye appeal. Luster. Then narrow down. I find that doing it like this I avoid being stuck with a bunch of moderns worth face value but still keep a few nice examples- if there are any.

    Spend them.

For the last 3 weeks I've been spending rolls of Kansas quarters new from a $500 box I forgot I had.

    Let those buffalo roam free!

Unless there is a real high grade candidate, then just spend them or return them to the bank...They will only take up room and never appreciate in value. Cheers, RickO

The territory/DC quarters are regular state quarters, they just aren't of a state. The mint still struck a half-billion of each, it's just nobody wanted 'em. :D

It would have been a whole 'nuther ballgame if the video game market didn't go to the home console/computer...

I do have a FSQ album with all 112 coins, because... OCD. (But I cheated and pulled all the quarters from mint sets. I harvest a kennedy half every year from a mint set, so doing the FSQ seemed a no brainer.) Otherwise all the circulating quarters I get these days go to coinstar after a suitable waiting period. I can always use gift cards for amazon, best buy or home depot...

Yep, I decided to see if there were any that had errors (which I did find, but not much), and I will keep a few of the better ones for an album as suggested. Now I'll have some quarters to deposit back into the system, as well as pennies, nickels and dimes. Just want to thank y'all for adjusting my thinking. I really don't have the space for storage....
Hope everyone has a nice Sunday and a good week :)
