Re: Anyone want to share their new purchases?
A couple months ago, I started a thread about the 1839 issued coins. In a number of series, it proved to be a transition year. The coin below happened to be part of the final year of the Coronet Head Large Cent series:

It’s one of the top examples of the “Silly Head” variety; pop is 9/2 in BN. CAC pop is 4/1.
Below is a comparison of the 3 varieties of 1839:

It’s not genuine?
VF, Damaged, seems about right. That’s what they do when someone sends them a coin to grade.
My question is why would anyone spend the money and bother?
It should not be a wheat reverse if it is a 1959-D.

Will there be 4 days for the 4 commemorative spots?
The Registry set lineup we're working from mentions only one commemorative half dollar slot. So I guess we'll be starting into the silver dollars tomorrow. I forgot the physical Dansco 7070 album has four such slots.
Re: How did this get graded?
The OP coin is just a damaged coin of some other date.
It is possible that the TPG certified it without realizing that a 1959-dated Lincoln cent should have a Memorial reverse. It has happened before. See this thread:

Oh jeez, I totally missed that…
No shame.
PCGS missed it too.
