JUST DISCOVERED "LOST" PHOTOS FROM LAST FALL'S JAPAN TRAVELS
In downloading from my Nikon SLR Camera photos taken at yesterday' Iditarod Sled Dog Race start, I discovered photos that had yet to be downloaded from last fall's travels in Japan.
Here is ones taken of Mt. Fuji:
Mount Kaimondake, the Volcano Mountain seen in the below photos taken in Kagoshima Kyushu from the shores of Lake Ikeda is often likened to Mt. Fuji and is known as Satsuma Fuji.
Another Lake to which we traveled was Lake Tazawa located in Akita Japan. It is the deepest lake in Japan and is known for its golden maiden statue of Tatsuko who per legend was turned into a dragon:
"Lost Photos" from a Shizuoka Prefecture's visit to Sunpu Castle Park where Shogun Tokugawa Ieyasu built his castle in 1585 and where his statue stands and a visit to nearby Sengen Shrine.
Despite watching hundreds of Moose and their behaviors over many decades, this is the first time I actually saw a moose eat snow - and fortuitously I was able to capture it on video
So yes Virginia, not only is there a Santa but you now also have proof that Moose eat snow!

In the below linked video and posted photos See all 4 of the Spectacular Mountains Ringing Cook Inlet which are rarely all seen on the Same Day.
Visible from Anchorage one first sees a US Air Force AWACS Surveillence Plane in the skies over Cook Inlet.
The camera then pans westward to capture spectacular winter views of all four of the most impressive mountains that can be seen looking northward from Anchorage Alaska’s Cook Inlet shore.
It is a rare day when all four of these mountains are visible at the same time.
First is Mt McKinley also known as Denali. Second is Mt Foraker. Third is Mount Susitna and fourth is Mt Spurr.
My McKinley is the tallest mountain in North America.
Look-A-Like Mount Foraker is known as McKinley’s Sister.
Mt Susitna appears as an Indian Maiden laying on her back with hair flowing westward and accordingly is commonly known as “Sleeping Lady.”
Mt Spurr is an active volcano and was recently in the news for having threatened to erupt again after a plume of smoke was seen last year. It is identifiable as the tallest of the other Alaska Range mountains surrounding it. Its Summit Crater can also be seen in this video.
