Re: Lets see the lowest mintage coins you own and tell us how many are estimated to still exist
I previously shared in this posting my 1885 Liberty Seated Halve ,,, after seeing all the gold pieces above this might be a good time to share a 3$ Gold piece - but struck in silver. an 1867 G3$ PR61 Judd- 598. Reported to be one of the two examples known in silver, with the other being the Byron Reed coin in the Durham Museum.
Priors owners are noted to be Woodin-Newcomer-Farouk-DiBello-Sieck and HARRY BASS ( from the recent Heritage auction).
It is interesting to note that the dies match those of the 1867 circulation strikes, not the dies use on the 1867 proofs - noted by the reverse position of the date and the spacing at the tips of the wreath.

Re: What’s going on with all these overgraded older holder coins on EBay. Check this one out.
Looks like the coin has tremendous luster and what might appear to be hits or cuts may actually be luster grazes if you see the coin in-hand. I have not seen the coin in-hand, so I don't know.
As for older holders and the coins in them being conservatively graded. Well, I believe it is true that "back in the day" grading was a slight bit more conservative, but that didn't mean all coins graded lower then or that there was complete consistency then, either. This means that an overgraded coin "back in the day" was unlikely to get cracked out, which would mean that those overgraded coins will still be in those old holders. Ebay is a great place to dump coins that are overgraded and in older holders.
Re: Is it cheaper to collect raw coins vs graded coins?
That will make for a really challenging and interesting set on completion. Beware of counterfeits!

Aww crap, I'm five years too late!
I do not use the Android app. So, I cannot provide any insight about it.
Yep. The Boyd announcement is 5 years old. However, I checked for this feature on my computer before posting about it. In short, it is there when I 'sign in' to my account via computer.
From 30 seconds ago:
In any event, I appreciate that you took the time to check, and wish you luck.
Edited for clarity.
Guess who is my favorite person on collectors.com now?
Since the five-year-old post said the functionality would be on the android app the following week, I erroneously assumed it wasn't working anywhere. And since usps.com said the package had not been picked up, I erroneously assumed it had not been picked up. Turns out they picked it up yesterday. A few days late, but (much) better late than never.
Thanks for your advice; I went on my computer and found it.
I appreciate that you took the time to check, and wish you luck.
And you are clearly a true gentleman as well.
I could learn a thing or two from you.
Thanks again.
