Glue. Soak it in water overnight and the glue will come right off.

I've heard stories of buyers claiming they never got the goods. There is no protection for that. Have any of your sales been returned when they were perfectly legit?@jmlanzaf said:

From what I'm reading, Ebay is a lot like it was before grading services - except a buyer can return a coin for any reason and know the dealer will still be around. That's why my boss does not use Ebay.Ebay provides a very safe venue for sales due to all the built in protections. Their fees are modest, especially when you consider the value of those protections. I'm a nobody but I can sell 5 figure coins and comics on eBay because of those protections. I can also sell $5 coins on eBay because of the low fees and the ebay standard shipping.
I sell 2000 items per year on eBay and have done over 100,000 sales around the globe. Only once did anyone claim to get an empty package and USPS. Paid the insurance claim. So, contrary to your assertion, there is protection for empty packages.
As for returns, i get 4 or 5 per year. They are almost always for silly reasons like "changed mind" or "found a better price". It is the cost of doing business.
ANYONE who buys a coin in any way other than cash can always file a charge back. So if you sell a coin on FB or IG and take PayPal, you can have a return, claim of empty packages or anything else. You can only sell coins for cash. That will restrict your sales far more than the occasional return will cost you. Penny wise, pound foolish, as the saying goes.
I know dealers who refuse to use ebay. You know what they do? They sell stuff to me and I make money on eBay. So, they are costing themselves money, though they may be adding aggravation.
YMMV

Your experience beats my hearsay from others. You have a very good record for returns. I guess I just hear 1 horror story from 25 people and it seems like Ebay is a bad place to sell stuff.
What does YMMV stand for?
YMMV = your mileage may vary
My ebay experience is similar. Two decades and few issues. Most come from mistakes of my own doing.

Re: Sad News, A moment of Silence Mr. Jules J Karp passed...
If I recall correctly, JJK used to send their periodic price lists ftom the United Nations building using UN stamps that they presumably got at a discount from old collections. It added am interesting feature to their mailings.

You know you're a loyal fan when you feel like chit after a loss. You know you're a bigger fan when you feel even worse after a playoff loss. And you're yet even a bigger fan when you still feel pain, years after a Super Bowl loss.At this point I have come to the realization that I will never get over the SB loss that ended the 2007 season. I LOVED that team. I still have never watched the replay of that game even though it has been what, 17 years? I really think that some of these losses affect the fans more than the players. The amount of angst that single game has caused me over the years is greater than the joy any of the SB wins ever gave me.
alright, now to stop thinking about 2007...
That one was brutal, no question about it, especially happening with the New York team.

The 2011 loss infuriated me more, I was more sad about 2007
The 2011 team just didn't show up, I remember Brady in the end zone launching a 50 yard bomb down the center of the field to get that safety, I was infuriated from that point on
yeah, that was the first drive right? I think 07 was worse for me because I had already counted my chickens. I was so sure they were going to cap off that season and felt like the game was a formality. then they had so many chances on that last NY drive. Samuel dropped that sure int. and they had Eli dead to rights for a sack and he was able to launch that miserable pass over the middle that was only about 3 inches from hitting the ground off that guys helmet...
man I hate that game. Favorite team I ever watched. they felt so unstoppable. until they were stopped.

Re: I love old holders with gold beans!
I had one and was not impressed with it. I no longer own it. I considered it to be a mistaken purchase.
Many coins in old holders are conservatively graded, but not all of them. A green label is not a given that something is under graded or dead on for the grade.

Im going to send it off i just dont know where would be my best option to get a solid answer.
@FredWeinberg is arguably the foremost authority on error coins. That said, we're working from photos.
It does look like there could be a foreign substance on the head itself. The loop behind the head doesn't really look like glue to me, but it also doesn't really look like a die break which is about the only way you could get that in a struck error.
If you want to spend $70 to $100, you can get a definitive answer by sending it to PCGS. You can get a cheaper opinion from ANACS or ICG. Any of them should be able to give you a definitive opinion if they have the coin in hand.
The problem is that even if that is a die break, it is unlikely the coin is worth the cost of the slab. So, it is really up to you as to whether you want to spend the money on the oddity.

"Today is the day..." That is the famous quote that Mel Fischer used to say each day as he headed out to search for the sunken treasure of the Atocha off Key West. I sometimes would also say that to myself as logged on each morning at 07:30 am to attempt to purchase the elusive FH Gold. Well, according to USPS tracking, delivery of my coin is expected today. So " today is the day " that my small treasure will arrive. Once I have it in hand I will give it a good look over and report back to all. I will also attempt to post a picture.Mark
Congratulations on your quest for the golden ticket! Thank you for posting your success and welcome to the forum.
Looking forward to seeing your pics of your golden treasure!😎
Re: Its Never Going to Stop
I can do little about the chaos in eBay except take advantage of it. The hidden deals are not as much in single coins as in groups and lots. You gotta find the one page in ten thousand. It’s easier than building a yacht.
