So basic, often forgotten. Take a soft cloth and clean the lens on the back of your phone.

If you're just using a phone, hold it partly atop a PCGS box where the lense is directly over the coin, and the rest is stabilized by the box.
Maybe with the PCGS box on top of a thich catalog or book to raise the height from the coin.
White or very light grey background (printer paper works fine).
Single desk lamp (direct) at 9:30 in a well lit room ... or two lamps (9:30 and 2:30) ... as close in to overhead as you can without direct glare or shadows.
This will be basic, but will help keep the images more stable and consistent, and give you a starting point. Move the light(s) around a little until you like the look.
My 2c ...
Todd, this is good productive info for folks that are just beginning to experience the "joys" of coin photography. One technique I advocate: put the phone on top of a clear drinking glass. My theory is that it's stable and just about right-sized for a phone to rest upon, it allows light to flow but, being circular, doesn't create a reflective flat surface adjacent to the subject coin, and finally, everyone has one! :-)
@Russell12, I hope you now know that there are people who care about your accomplishments!

Yes, keep going. A very nice commemorative.

Do you think they'll make a privy version of these coins, if they're recovered? 'Genuine coin stolen July 2025'?
If they did, a lot of collectors would buy it.
Here’s my $20 Liberty- post yours
Common date and generic quality, but at least it’s an 1800s date and not another 1904-P.

I wonder if the buyer thinks that they may end up with the gold AND an insurance settlement.Certainly. The buyer must have put up the $15 million, so the only way anyone can make the big score is if the seller is forced to deliver twice.
The seller need not be forced to deliver twice for someone to make the big score. Thr big score potential is for the two people who took delivery of the coins (and their accomplices).
I guess we can assume then that they weren't working for the "buyer" of the gold. So the seller or their insurance carrier will need to provide replacement gold or a refund.
Whether the people who left with the gold were working with the buyer or not remains to be seen. It will be very interesting to see what documentation they presented at the time of the pickup, and whether the victim company can reasonably claim that they could not have had that documentation without the cooperation of the buyer.
All I know for sure is that lawyers will be involved.

Must be a Dan Carr coin with the three D mintmarks. You can see traces of the host coin on the reverse.

I bet a 8 team parlay yesterday, every team scoring 1 run in 7 innings and the only team to screw me was the to white SoxHad they scored 1 run in 7 innings I would have had a net profit of $370 on a $20 bet
Not a lot of money but that one really stung in an annoying way
I think you are using DK. The number of different prop bets they offer boggles my mind.
I'm sure their computer calculates the chances of that happening, based on the starting pitchers records, the teams average run production thru 7 innings, and other factors. Then deducts their juice in the odds, and offers the wager.
That being said, seems like an interesting play at those odds.
The analytics behind the scene is only understandable by a computer, it factors in weather, pitcher against the amount of lefty's and righty's during the day vs night, ballpark dynamics, ect ect ect ect it's crazy
