Re: Something different - a DON’T guess the grade thread…
@MFeld, I was concerned that the RB might degrade to BR when I bought this coin years ago. Since then I’ve come around in my thinking and did acquire an 1877 RB that I was comfortable with.
Re: Why the 2026 Congratulations set should be a winner
I can’t remember the issue price of these things wasn’t it 175 or something so at 2:15 I guess I guess there’s some profit there doesn’t seem like very much to me but maybe that’s a lot of money to some folks.

People laughed at me for paying ‘full boat’ ($400) for a MS semi-key Morgan OGH/CAC about 6-7 years ago. Nobody wanted to buy it. Retail was around $225 at the time. Today retail is $1150 and that doesn’t even account for the OGH/CAC combo premium! One of the smartest things I ever did!!Edit to add: After further research…The coin was selling for $275-$325 at the time I purchased it.
The fact that “retail” increased substantially over about a 6-7 year period doesn’t necessarily mean that paying “full boat” at the time was a good move. There are other factors to consider.

Re: Seated dollar--where would you send for grading and what would they grade?
I think your grades are quite optimistic. I could see it as a 35 or 40, and I don't think it will straight-grade at CACG. It might not at PCGS either.

Literally sitting here right now looking at a stack of 85 opc that look better than that card that I won’t submit because they will 7 or 8.Maybe I’m thinking about this wrong and should launch them and pray for a break.
you don't have the same kind of pull as that submitter does when it comes to "good" grades
Re: Something different - a DON’T guess the grade thread…
I love the crusty color of this coin and that it matches the general patina and feel of my slug. I chose it specifically for the similar vibe and to have both 1852 US Assay issues.
Despite the attractive look, the surfaces are a touch waxier looking than I might like. Conversely, the rim ding doesn't bother me at all and it is not distracting in the slightest.
Under light, the toning is magenta and purple and very attractive, almost reminiscent of the color of a circ cam seated coin. The slightly higher silver content helped bring the colors out more than most federally issued gold coins.

I like what PCA did there.. unload on that bitch. I just saw the full video, he barely missed making a sensational catch, he’s pissed, and some skank starts giving him crap. She could have easily said nice try or something but she took the ugly route. So let’s get ugly! 🤬
Apparently she is engaged and it was an outing for her and the bridesmaids’ or something. Can you imagine being married to that thing?I think these interpersonal relationships between players and fans are getting surreal. Some parks like Rate Field allow fans to get right up into the face of a player from the safety of a fence, while consuming alcoholic beverages at party time levels. Perfect mix.
People and the media are over blowing a lot of this crap. She talked trash he talked it back that was it. Theres no story there but people need stuff to write about. No clue who she is personally but no reason for people getting on her for making fun of an opposing player and no reason for people to get on PCA for chirping back.
Its not like the NBA nonsense where they have fans thrown out for hurting their feelings. The fans that deserved to get dumbed on are the ones like those Yankees fans that grabbed Mookies wrist to rip a ball out of his glove, thats over the line.
