Didn't think I would ever find another 1917-D that I like better than my current, but the strike on this coin is insane.
I'm betting my fellow Buff nuts will like it as well:
Here's a pic of the coin that got bumped to the dup side:

I have a set of 1917 dated coins ( my Dad's Birthyear ) and
I have hunted high and low for Buffalos that were hammered.
Your 17-D is such a coin. Guess, one of these days, I should
hunt for an upgrade.

<< <i>That is a nice Buffalo. I should know. It was in my Buffalo set for 6 or 7 years. Just sold as Lot 3634 in Heritage's recent sale. >>
Well, I'm thankful that you decided to part with it. You can rest assured it will be happy running with it's new herd for quite a while.
I picked up several out of that sell, so maybe a few others made the trip together

Your fellow "Buff nuts", you mean like in Buffalo Nuts? You guys are known as the Buffalo Nuts?
Well that just doesn't sound right.
Oh, but a wonderful coin though.
Your dup is way better than average!
Great pick-up ! ! !

There are several of my Buffalo's in the Heritage ANA sale. The 16-P,17-P & 35-D in PCGS MS67 were from my set and were upgraded after I sold them, as was the 16-D in
PCGS MS66 and the 27-D in PCGS MS 65+.

And that is a spectacular 17D- I've never seen such a strong strike on both sides. Beautiful coin!
