I'm not sure the 10/31/2012 shipping date is accurate. I know it moved to September 27/28 last week, but now all of my orders are showing 10/31/2012 (including those placed on the second day).

I just checked my one and only order made the first day, 6/7, and it still shows 7/27. Your saying your order made on the second day, 6/8, has changed to the 10/31 shipping date? That really sucks.
Somebodies buying. A very big counter jump today. 250,000 is assured, unless there are 0 sales reported happening on the final day. And I don't think we will really know for a week as mail orders get delivered to and processed by the mint.
Not buying from the mint on these or any other US mint future silver eagles direct at all.
Last time with the ASE's I got less than 20% PCGS 70's from 15 sets, yet big dealers in bulk seemed to get well over half 70's. I will buy a couple 70's from a dealer like MCM and save myself the wait, cost, and frustration of trying to get a 70 on my own. I will buy and keep a couple as I collect them all regardless, but I will not try to flip them. Same with the mint ATB 5 ouncers, I bought 10 Gettysburg direct from the mint and not even one came back SP70 from PCGS my preferred grading service. Will never buy from the mint again for those series.
I feel there will be a lot of people buying this 2 coin set to flip and they will find eventually real demand is lower, in the range of 100,000. The people who get their coins first will probably do OK and may do a quick double or triple sell, the people who get them last will probably be lucky to cover all their costs of selling and shipping and maybe get 10-20% net after fees. Still better than interest at the bank, but lot of time and effort.

27,780 in one day tells me that the flippers are getting in on this action.
I'll expect prices to begin at around $600 for resales. Add some of those varying slab labels along with some 70's and things could get out of hand in the scramble.
Of course, another 27,000 might get ordered tomorrow and then there go the mintage figures.
Whatever. I've been in for three since release day and I'm just not in a speculative position or mood any longer.
I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.
well if thats true, then I should send in one or two sets bought the first day,to get the coveted FS label.I wasnt going to bother with the cost and hassle but now??
Placed my order on 6/8. 3 sets backordered and expected to ship on 7/27.

<< <i>Until the milk spotting problem goes away, I'm not a buyer! >>
You know, I was rearranging my silver stash yesterday and looked at all of my slabbed ASE as well as several mixed date and same date rolls and not had a milk spot. But, I only looked at around 400 to 500 ounces and really wasn't looking for pin point issues. Just didn't see any glaring spots.
I do live in a very dry climate. I wonder if that has an effect on the spotting?
Of course they will profit, its a unique set with two unique coins that fit within a collectors budget. It's just going to take time. Like the Matte JFK or 01 Buffs. Sure the quick in then cashout flippers will score too. Then the flood will happen and the market will stabilize. After a year this little two unique coin set will find its place above issue price within the growing ASE collector base. Sure, I can squirrel a dozen away for later, not a problem for a sure thing IMO.
Buyers with a ship date after 7/27/12 will probably struggle to see a premium for 1- 2 years (on grades <70)...UNLESS we have a die variety/error in the latter deliveries...
NOTE: If I ordered between 125,000 and 175,000 I'd be really concerned about getting someones returns.
Only bought slabbed when PCGS would fix or replace for free, but now I have to pay $25 a coin. That gets really expensive. I have found something interesting since I mainly only buy non-slabbed now. THEY DO NOT SPOT! I have bought several sets I plan to keep they look great and are quite fresh.
I still have a few boxes of last years plus a 70 and 69 set, there will be no flipping for me on these and putting all my money into my registry set...............woohoooo Enjoy tom
FOr some reason I"m sitting this one out. I'll wait and see what happens in the flood. If its a good price I'll pick up a few. If not.........no biggie.

Akbeez found the counter on the unavailable list. It says it will be updated July 6th about 3 PM EDT with the final count. Also on that page: Orders will begin shipping on or about July 27, 2012. Orders are fulfilled on a first in, first served basis. Fulfillment of these sets will occur between July 27, 2012 and mid-October, 2012.
I think the set will do well. Remember, the lowest mintage proof ASE is the unaffordable 1995-w. Next WAS the 1994 at 372,000. However, it looks like the 2012-S proof is going to come in at <300,000. Add to that the popular reverse proof, with a mintage similar to the 2006 (which sells for $600 in PR70 FS), and you have a set that is almost guaranteed to be a winner.
Wow. Everyone is hating on these sets. I am betting they will do pretty darn good in the aftermarket at their peak. The mintage is probably going to be not that much more than the 2006 anniversary sets. The 2006 ASE anniversary sets brought around $700 to $900 at the peak. It's up to the aftermaket now to see where these sets will go dollar wise.

Flippers is what makes the market for most new Mint issues....Not sure if they got involved in this offering. I passed on this one also, but I'm somewhat surprised at the high sales total of 250k+

Will these have a lower mintage than the 2006 20th Anniversary Sets? (250,000)
I wonder what percentages will be PR70's?
I wonder if there will be any DDO's or DDR's (like the 2011 25th Anniversary Sets?
I wonder how many "collectors" actually ordered after whining about the inability to order the 2011 25th Anniversary Sets?
I wonder how many were ordered by dealers with the sole intent of Slabbing and Flipping quickly?
I wonder if this set will have a sustainable value like the 2006 Anniversary Sets?

These have a shot to be lower mintage than the 2006 sets. If so, look for this set to be selling for $300 at a minimum.

Yes it will.
Collectors will have the opportunity to put together a Reverse Proof only set (2006-P, 2011-P, 2012-S) of P and S mint.

The Silver Eagle is a beautiful coin but with the spotting problem these have it seems foolish to me to put anything over melt in these coins.
Sure I flipped a bunch of them but I am talking about buying and holding long term
