MS65? If the 'TY' were not so soft.. would go 66... of course, depends on the 'slab'.... Cheers, RickO

Hmmm... The colors are a bit unique. I'd be surprised if it's slabbed. But if it is, I'm guessing 65. The luster is nice, but the strike is average and then there's that hit on the Buffalo's front leg.

it is slabbed - NGC MS64*

I don't think there is any question on this being NT - I once had a set of UNC Buffs that I had stored in a Library of Coins album since the mid 1950s - about 10 of the coins toned similar to this - I had the set slabbed in the late 90s after it had sat undisturbed in my bank vault since the time when I went away to college in 1963 - On the first try, NGC said a couple of the coins were "questionable", but on the second attempt, they too were slabbed. What I didn't understand is how they could not see that it was a complete set that came from the same album on the 1st time thru. This coin looks almost identical to a couple that were in that set - so my guess is album toned - either Library of coins or the blue Whitmans, though it could have been in a Wayte Raymond Album also.

    Tonedbuff is brokeimage

But I'm sure I'd dig up anything up to $450 in a second for that coin! Broke or not!

That is the sort of coin you can expect to see selling for big multiples with Anaconda and others, for good reason.

I saw a 24-P in a NCG 64* holder at the November Baltimore show. Dealer wanted $1.5K image.

I've certainly seen really big multiples for the colorful * designated NGC coins. In fact, with buffs, I've noticed the biggest multiples seem to be on NGC * coins. Some of them see multiples at 5x plus. This one would go big to the right buyer.
In all honesty, I am one of those crazy people that will pay multiples for coins like this. My limit would honestly be about $800 if it looks that good in hand!

The NGC plastic is easy to discern.
Absolutely beautiful coin. Very rustic with a rough-hewn look. I like it!
