I can't believe he got banned. He was fully against TPG's, but he never pushed the envelope here on the forum.

I haven't read any posts, by anyone, that sound remotely like Dorkkarl. (if he changed his handle at 10K)

Actually my take was that Dorkkarl simply preferred to have the coins in his collection raw -- he seemed to acknowledge that the TPGs set a standard for the industry that was beneficial.

A couple of years ago when I was a newbie lurker and a recent returnee to collecting, I wasn't sure what to make of DK's posts, but I quickly realized he was one of the more knowledgabe and thought provoking members on the board. Although there are some great board members here (too many to name), I miss Karl's posts and hope he comes back or is back under a different name.

No actually it's Carl Roe's fault. He's the power behind the throne. image

  • DK -- you have been gone so long many raw coins have been slabbed! Some have been treated with MS 70. Some have been dipped. To me it makes green label holders worth more but you might disagree. image

If you want to continue your quest you need to tell people they should buy what the like and throw away the plastic...

As a newbie who only interacted with him briefly before his mysterious disappearance I must confess to missing his (her? image) paraphrased Occam's Razor quote and magnificent monotony re: raw coins and the collector:investor dichotomy.

Do your best to avoid circular arguments, as it will help you reason better, because better reasoning is often a result of avoiding circular arguments.
