  Cool coin. For whatever reason, the 1971 BC dollars toned rather nicely. I have seen quite a few, all in orange and purple.

  One of the reasons so many 71 and 73 have wild toning is visible in the first picture here--the piece of sponge that is in the cases they came in. The sponge is also responsible for some of the textile toning you see occasionaly on these coins.

  Take out that cheap coin and put a DMPL morgan in that sponge box. Let the toning begin.
