Rick Snow -- I'm Back Thanks to all your prayers!

Two weeks ago I was burned horribly and had to spend the last 2 weeks in the Hospital Burn Unit. After two grafting surgeries, I am well on my way to a full recovery. I'm typing this out through thick gauze, but that is my only discomfort right now. I had a 10X8 piece of my leg harvested for grafts. No muscle damage, thank god. I put some "Thank-you" messages on my web site if you care to read them.
I will be back semi-full time on Monday 6/13. I had to give up a planned trip to Japan (My wife and kids will go, though) I also had to cancel my ANA Summer Seminar Class, which is my favorite coin-related event of the year.
When this happened, a thread was running about the 1859 S1 NGC MS65 I have for sale. Paul Houck (shylock) started a thread relating how he used to own it as a ANACS MS63 (bought from me) and sold it for a steep loss on ebay. (By the way Paul, thanks for the very kind words for my recovery elsewhere) The fact is I made the mistake on selling it to Paul in the first place. It is a slam-dunk 64, shot 65 with beautiful luster. I got it and flopped it to Paul at a discount to the MS64 price, rather than sending it in first. I don't get special breaks with any grading service, btw.
He's looking back at it as just a typical ANACS63, where in reality is was way undergraded, and we both knew it! Hence the completion of a successful deal. My intention on selling to him was that maybe, maybe one day he’d sell it back to me. What does he do? Throws it on ebay! Sure it's listed in Cherrypickers, but why didn't he upgrade it first! Real stupid move. I treat customers fairer than normal if I believe that someday I'll be able to make and offer on their coins when they want to sell. (Dr. Larson Collection for example) They are under no conrtact to do so. If a buyer is thowring his recent "gift upgrade" from me on ebay, I stop thinking of his as a collector and treat him as a dealer. (i.e will not get first shot on upgrade potentials)
Anyway, I felt I had to put my thoughts in on this since they were not entered al all last week. Before this coin got graded, the only other example known (NGC 65) sold for $12,750 in the "Heathgate" sale (Goldberg's Benson I Feb 2001). It' s got a price of $10,000 in the cherrypicker's guide (2000 ed.). So what If I'm asking $15,000, perhaps you can get it cheaper, just ask. Should I burn my other customer who owns the one from the auction by offering it cheaper?
I find in very bad taste to essentially knock down my perfectly attractive coin just because you remember it in a lower graded holder (and also took a loss on it). Doing internet sleuthing is a fun parlor game, but just be careful not to disparage anyone else’s coin in the process.
In other events during my absence. Bret Palser has left Eagle Eye Rare Coins to go into business for himself! He will be doing Civil War Tokens. Just so there is no misunderstanding, Eagle Eye owns all the Civil War Token listed on the web site. I'm going to continue to work with CWT collectors and I expect I'll have to find some help, since I have a huge inventory to manage.
Again, Thanks to all your well-wishes and prayers. And no hard feelings, shylock, except regarding the Fly-In Club web site erasure.

New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.

And I don't think you should have to be defending yourself on these boards, it's well known here that you are a fine dealer with top-notch inventory!
Hope you have a speedy recovery.

I'm not sure why such harsh comments about Paul need to be posted publicly. Paul is a great guy and so are you, so I will express my opinion that whatever differences you may have with him or vice versa, they should be addressed privately.
As far as the Fly-In Club or whatever is left of it......no offense but I have no intentions on renewing my membership again and frankly I am not happy that it went to pot right after I re-upped. The issues have all been several months late and now it appears we are down to 3/year.
glad you are doing better.

For the record, I've never purchased a coin from Rick but have received some good advice in person (although he wouldn't know me from any other putz). However, I've run into several who have consummated (great word in numismatics) deals on bigger coins . . . and to a man, they have been delighted.

Practice what you preach, goose3 freak. You shold have voiced you reasons for no more fly club privately. THe guy is recovering from severe burns, and you leave that stupid thread. Based on the coins you have and sell, you would be a waste of time for any club.
Do you feel the love???
